Residents of Anne Court in Talke are celebrating after pushing Highways at Staffordshire County Council to take action to stop 28 tonne HGVs reversing into their road with the help of their Labour Councillors.  New Bollards have now been put in place to stop the large vehicles reversing dangerously close to residential properties making Anne Court safer.

Tracey Littleton of Anne Court said: “our Councillors worked with us to find the right solution.  My family and neighbours are much happier and we feel safer in our homes.  Our Talke Councillors have done a great job and I’m greatful for their support.”

Councillor David Allport said: “Local People always come first and when residents contacted me I knew action needed to be taken.  We have a lot of highway issues in Talke and its important the County Council listen to residents.  Saftey is paramount and as Labour Councillors, we will always do our best for Talke”.

John Taylor, Labour’s County Council candidate said: “Councillors working together with local people to achieve a great result is exactly what the Labour Party is about.  This is a real success story and I am so proud of what has been achieved”.

Many thanks
